Tariff Threshold Reference
Generally speaking, if the declared value of your parcel is below the country’s tariff threshold, it will typically not be taxed (fraudulent declarations are an exception). If your parcel is taxed, you will need to pay the taxes and assist with customs clearance promptly.

Notes:
- The customs tax threshold in Switzerland is 100 Swiss francs, and the VAT (value-added tax) threshold is 65 Swiss francs.
- Canadian and European customs are stringent with parcel inspections. Commercial express services such as DHL, UPS, and FedEx are more likely to be subject to tariffs.
- For EU countries, some routes via JoyaBuy offer IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop) services. You can choose to use the platform’s IOSS agent to pay taxes in advance. Refer to the VAT Reform in the UK and EU Countries for details.
Parcel Submission Tips:
- Weight Considerations: The weight of the parcel is a key factor for customs in determining whether it is a personal or commercial shipment. Parcels weighing 10kg or more are more likely to be considered commercial. Please take the weight into account when submitting your parcel.
- Quantity Limitations: Sending a large quantity of the same product in one parcel can also lead to it being classified as a commercial shipment. Avoid excessive quantities of identical items.
- Sensitive Items: Due to customs policies, exercise caution when sending medicines.

Customs Clearance Instructions:
The cost of customs clearance for non-tax-exempt or non-IOSS proxy service routes must be borne by the user. Customs inspections are generally conducted randomly. If customs considers your parcel special (e.g., large size, excessive weight, or containing sensitive items), they will usually contact the recipient to provide invoices or customs clearance documents. The recipient bears the cost of customs clearance.
If a parcel is returned or destroyed due to the recipient’s failure to be contacted or to cooperate with customs clearance, the recipient will bear the costs.
If you need a customs clearance invoice, you can download it from JoyaBuy or contact online customer service for assistance.
